BangkokIn Bangkok, our first stop we had to get used to the climate - the temperature was actually 40°C above the Hungarian. We've visited the King's Palace, Wat Po, the Dusit Zoo and the Siam Ocean World. The hotel was just a 5 min. walk from the famous Khao Shan Rd. |
Khao SokOur second stop, the Kao Sok Natoinal park, was not as much fun as we thought from home. Maybe it was not the best period of the year to visit. Our hotel was way far from everything - the good restaurants and the cold beer, so we've left one day ahead of schedule. |
Ao NangAo Nang is the central touristic site of Krabi. We had ship tours to the James Bond island, Railey Beach, and to Chicken island (which actually turned out to be Poda island :)). Our accomodation was really relaxed, far from the crowd, in a tropical forest. |
Koh Phi PhiPhi Phi islands (there are 2 of them) are one of the main attractions of southern Thailand. This is why it is overcrowded at any time of the year. On the southernmost island, Phi Phi Lei, you can find Maya beach, where they shot the movie "The Beach". Actually it wasn't as deserted as in the movie. |
PhuketPhuket ("Playa del Farang") is the most touristic part of southern Thailand, crowded with "farang" = white man. Besides visiting Phuket town's old chinese district we've spent the most time within the walls of the hotel, which had gorgeous pools in a wonderful tropical garden. |
Bangkok IIWe've spent 2 more days in Bangkok. Had a bit of shopping and walking around the streets, soaking in some asian air before we left for the winter. We stayed at Hotel Baiyoke (49th floor) which is said to be the tallest building in Thailand. Undoubtedly it was crazy tall. |
